1. What was the reason you began a Dreamwidth or LiveJournal account (or both)?

I was reading a lot of fanfic and following the writers on LJ. At one point I decided that if I wanted to leave a Thank You comment, I should join. I did. Eventually, I moved over to DW

2. How many DW or LJ communities do you subscribe to?

78. Most of them are inactive, but I can't quite bring myself to leave.

3. Do you have a favorite community or one you check out often to see what's new?

[community profile] sga_saturday It's one of the few active communities associated with Stargate Atlantis and has a monthly prompt. I do check in on my reading circle (it will always be my flist to me) on a daily basis so if a community has posted (like [community profile] thefridayfive) I'll see it.

4. How did you pick your user name?
As I recall, I'd had a long run of the user name you have chosen has already been used. I decided to take my first and last name and scramble the letters. And that is why my user name is what it is.

5. If you could change your user name, would you?

Maybe in the early days, but not now. I'm the same name too many places at this point.

From the community:

The following bonus questions are brought to you by the fact that I (anais_pf) have been unable to access any page of LiveJournal for more than a week (and therefore cannot post to The Friday Five there):

6. If you have a LiveJournal, are you currently able to access it?

Yes. (to my surprise)

7. Do you have any information about why one would be unable to access LiveJournal?

I had heard that they were planning to remove access to members outside of Russia. If that is about to be the case (and they'd probably hit communities first) maybe a vpn would help?

When I have to talk about things that bother me.

I'm not crazy with this focusing on myself all the time.

20. Was learning a new language part of your education when you were at school? Can you still remember any of it?

Yes, I took two years of Latin. And no, I don't remember any of it. I wish I had taken something more beautiful. I'm terrible at languages. I’m not even good with English.

1. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

The next place on our bucket list is Hawaii. We just signed up for a cruise to 5 ports of call in Hawaii. We’re very excited about it. It was on both of our lists. It’s for April in 2027.

The next place is going to be Key West. Hubby wants to go really badly. That will be for 2028. I couldn’t care less. But I don’t tell him that.

19. If you had the space (and the time), would you like to keep chickens?

I love chickens but my hubster thinks I would make pets out of them. I really would like them for eggs. But he won’t even discuss it. Our neighbors have chickens and they always give us eggs. They’re quite a bit of work. I had two when I was young. I loved those chickens. Now, you understand why I don’t have any. 😂🌻😂🌸

Hubby is going to go with me to do laps at the pool. We’ll do it for an hour and 1/2. We’re both looking forward to it. It’s a great way to exercise.

1. If you died tomorrow, what do you think your biggest impact on the world would have been?

This question is weird. I was a decent mom, not perfect, but I was there, and I loved them.

My grandchildren still love reading my books. Mt great-grandson took a set of all four of them and donated them to his school's library. He's 8 years old. I guess I made an impact with my books.

I made many lives more fun working with Developmentally Disabled Adults. I worked there for 15 years, and before that, I was an aide at a DDA Day Program for 8 years. That's how I started.

I can't think of anything else.

Not quite 365 days questions.

Which flowers or trees are blooming where you live now?

All trees are blooming.

Desert Broom
Mesquite tree. We have two
Paloverde tree
Orange trees. We have 2 large ones.
Grapefruit trees. We have 2
Pomegranate trees, we have a huge one.
Bird of paradise. We have 3 big ones.
Oleanders
I don't know names of any others. Sorry.

Our orange trees bear fruit twice a year. We get about 50-65 oranges on each tree, twice a year. Grapefruit only gives us about 6 big ones twice a year. But it's still smaller. The orange trees are huge. Hubby had to get something to pick oranges with that can reach the top. He sacks up bags of oranges, and we donate them to two separate group homes for adults with autism. They love the oranges. It works out really nicely.
